Our client is looking for an experienced Engineering Lead to play a critical role in the delivery and integration of advanced autonomous and collision avoidance technologies within a large-scale operational environment.
Roster: 5/2 Perth CBD based Start date: ASAP Duration: approx.
12 months - depending on client requirements Pay Rate: $****** - $****** p/h + Super depending on experience Please note that only people with relevant experience will be considered.
The Role: This role will sit at the intersection of Engineering, Product, Project, Site Operations and external technology vendors, providing technical leadership and coordination throughout the product development lifecycle.
As Engineering Lead, you will act as a key technical interface across internal engineering teams, project stakeholders, site operations and external vendors.
You will ensure engineering requirements, design decisions, interfaces and implementation activities remain aligned with operational requirements, project objectives and safety expectations.
The role will involve driving technical discussions, coordinating vendor deliverables, managing technical queries and ensuring engineering decisions, assumptions, risks and dependencies are clearly documented and followed through to resolution.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: Lead technical coordination between Engineering, Product, Project, Operations and external vendors.
Support the pr oduct development lifecycle from requirements and design through integration and implementation.
Coordinate technical requirements, design artefacts, interfaces and supporting documentation.
Work directly with vendors to clarify requirements, resolve technical queries and address design issues.
Translate engineering requirements, behaviours and constraints into clear communication for project, site and vendor stakeholders.
Track technical actions, decisions, assumptions, deviations and dependencies through to closure.
Maintain alignment between engineering intent, vendor deliverables and implemented outcomes.
Identify technical risks, gaps, inconsistencies and integration challenges.
Support engineering governance and continuous improvement of product development processes.
Promote a strong safety culture across engineering and project activities.
Essential Experience: You will be an experienced engineering professional with a strong background in complex product or systems development, ideally within mining, industrial technology, automation or another safety-critical environment.
8+ years' experience delivering complex systems or products.
Demonstrated experience working through a product development lifecycle.
Strong background in systems engineering, software engineering, systems integration or hardware-integrated development.
Experience delivering software and hardware-based products or systems to customers.
Strong technical stakeholder management skills across engineering, product, project, operations and external vendors.
Experience coordinating requirements, interfaces, design outputs and technical decisions.
Strong problem-solving and technical facilitation capability.
Ability to identify interdependencies, integration risks and downstream impacts.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
