About the role Base salary from $140,000 per annum (plus super) - total package to be negotiated with preferred candidate based on skills and experience As a Planning Specialist , you will help shape how maintenance, capital and customer-driven programs are planned and delivered across TasNetworks' Distribution network.
Translating business priorities into practical delivery plans, you will balance resource capacity, network risk and customer requirements to support the safe, efficient and cost-effective delivery of network activities.
Your work will directly influence how resources are allocated, risks are managed and programs are sequenced to achieve successful operational outcomes.
Working closely with planning, design, field operations, asset management and program delivery teams, you will optimise work packages, maintain a rolling 12-month delivery plan and provide sound recommendations in complex planning scenarios.
Combining operational knowledge, analytical capability and planning system expertise, you will support the delivery of an annual portfolio valued at approximately $70 million while contributing to continuous improvement across works management practices.
Responsibilities also include: Optimise work packages, resource allocation and delivery schedules to maximise productivity while meeting safety, budget and performance objectives.
Assess competing priorities, operational constraints and network risks to support informed planning decisions.
Coordinate the planning and execution of complex maintenance, capital and customer-driven programs with operational and technical teams.
Use enterprise systems, geospatial technologies and planning data to monitor performance, identify risks and improve delivery outcomes.
About you You are an experienced planning professional with a strong understanding of utility operations and the delivery of complex work programs.
Combining technical expertise with sound commercial and operational judgement, you are comfortable managing high-risk portfolios and using data, technology and network knowledge to make informed decisions that support safe, efficient and reliable outcomes.
Known for your structured and practical approach, you build trusted relationships across field crews, technical specialists and business teams.
You communicate clearly,
navigate competing priorities with confidence and look for opportunities to improve planning processes and ways of working.
Your reputation is built on sound judgement, collaboration and consistently delivering high-quality outcomes.
You'll bring: Qualifications in project management, business systems or a related discipline, or equivalent practical industry experience.
Utility industry experience supported by electricity distribution, maintenance, construction or trade-based knowledge.
Proven success managing complex, high-risk work programs and competing priorities.
Strong capability with SAP or equivalent ERP systems, Power BI, Microsoft applications and geospatial technologies.
Well-developed analytical and relationship-building skills, with the ability to translate complex data into practical planning outcomes.
