EL1 Assistant Director Payroll and Reporting Location: Canberra Clearance: Baseline Duration : Contract until June *******, 2 x 6 month extension opportunities Rate: $80-$94 per hour Proposed commencement: October **** Our federal government client is seeking an experienced HR professional to lead a major HR systems transformation project while overseeing workforce data governance, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
This role is ideal for someone with strong expertise in HR information systems, workforce analytics, compliance, and stakeholder engagement within a complex organisational environment.
Key Responsibilities Lead the transition from an existing HR Information System to a current Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platform.
Act as the workforce data steward, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, governance, and reporting reliability.
Manage workforce reporting, analytics, and data extraction for executive leadership, annual reporting requirements, and ad hoc business requests.
Support and optimise HR business processes within the ERP and HRIS environment.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and service delivery.
Ensure compliance with relevant employment legislation, industrial instruments, audit requirements, and reporting obligations.
Oversee HRIS administration, upgrades, system enhancements, self-service functionality, and vendor relationships.
Develop and maintain system documentation, process maps, and standard operating procedures.
Partner with internal stakeholders to provide expert advice and support strategic workforce initiatives.
About You : Strong experience managing and optimising HR Information Systems, ideally including Aurion, Workday,
or similar platforms.
Expertise in workforce data management, reporting, analytics, and data governance.
Sound knowledge of employment legislation, payroll-related requirements, leave provisions, taxation, superannuation, and industrial agreements.
Proven ability to lead system implementation, process improvement, and business transformation projects.
Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, report writing, and relationship-building skills.
A proactive, solutions-focused approach with exceptional attention to detail and commitment to service excellence.
