The successful applicant will require understanding and experience of coordinating a multifaceted team , a sound understanding of the complexities of being newly arrived in the country, and a demonstrated understanding of all data and compliance requirements and ability to manage and maintain relationship with internal and external stakeholders.
.8 EFT Monday – Thursday– 12 month Family Leave position About the program The Coordinator oversees 3 programs; To coordinate services across the Settlement team, Homework Club and Working Together program Facilitate the operational requirements of the 3 programs in collaboration with the General Manager, Housing and Complex Needs.

line management and operational support to the teams To promote a culture of respect and collaboration within teams whilst working towards the organisation's overarching vision to build a just society Program Purpose The Settlement Program is a Community Development Program funded by the Department of Social Services (DSS).
Jesuit Social Services works with newly arrived refugees and migrants and their communities who have arrived in Australia in the last 5 years.
The program seeks to support the settlement of new and emerging communities through casework support, group work and information sessions, referral to mainstream services and activities, using a community development, capacity building and strength-based approach.
Jesuit Social Services has operated the Flemington Homework Club for over 20 years.
The program runs twice weekly during school term from 5-7pm and supports school aged children from refugee and migrant backgrounds in the Flemington Public Housing estate to overcome common barriers to engagement with learning and success at school.
The program is overseen by a 0.4.
Homework Club Coordinator and is supported by approximately 20 volunteers.
The program is completely reliant on securing grants and donations.
The Working Together program is a grant Family Safety Victoria (FSV) awarded to Jesuit Social Services for the delivery of a community and sector capacity building project which aims to increase awareness and reduce the impacts of family violence within Horn of African communities in Melbourne's West.
The program is delivered in partnership with Valuable Shepard, with Jesuit Social Services as the lead org.
A program worker is based across both sites.
About you This role will suit a candidate with:



Experience managing a small team across the three programs - two Senior Practitioners and a Homework Club Coordinator Extensive knowledge and understanding of frameworks and approaches to supporting newly arrived communities Tertiary qualification/s and/or relevant experience in field supporting newly arrived communities and their families across the three domains.
Demonstrated capacity to lead, manage and support teams including ability to provide support, mentoring and supervision to staff Capacity to continuously assess and mitigate risk at a program and participant level to ensure safety and wellbeing of self and others.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
