About the Role
The Planned Surgery Liaison Nurse will co-ordinate, negotiate and manage the transition of care of patients throughout the continuum.
You will be primarily responsible for managing the Planned Surgery Endoscopy waiting list according to the waiting list policy, streamline the planned admission process, and work towards decreasing wait for endoscopy procedure and length of stay.
Aware of the Planned Surgery Wait list Policy principles with regards to when patients are placed on the planned endoscopy and surgery waiting list
Liaise with surgical staff and other relevant stakeholders to ensure appropriate case management of patients
Monitor elective surgery cancellations and arrange appropriate follow up
Monitor Category 1 patients to ensure they are treated within 30 days
Manage Category 2 & 3 patients to ensure they are treated within their designated time frame set by the Department of Health
Contract & Employment
Permanent, part time opportunity (24 hours per week)
Salary
Classifications for this position will be YU11 ($115,289 per annum pro rata)

Requirements
Bachelor of Nursing, which meets the registration requirements of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
At least 3 years postgraduate acute surgical or endoscopy nursing experience
A valid Nationally Coordinated Criminal History check, or willing to obtain
