About the role
n
Bring your commercial expertise and doors & windows industry knowledge to a role where your decisions will shape the products, value and experiences we offer customers across our store network and online. As our Senior Buyer Doors & Windows, you'll lead the development and performance of a key merchandise portfolio. You'll have the opportunity to identify new products, strengthen supplier partnerships and create a competitive offer that helps customers improve and enjoy their homes and communities. This is a visible and influential role where you can turn market insight into practical commercial outcomes. you'll help set the direction for the doors and windows range while working alongside supportive teams across merchandise, operations, marketing and the broader business.

What's involved

Develop a compelling product range aligned with our category strategy, customer needs and brand direction
n
Identify opportunities to improve value, reduce costs and introduce meaningful product innovation
n
Lead commercial negotiations covering pricing, volumes, trading terms and supply arrangements
n
Build trusted, productive relationships with local and international suppliers
n
Partner with suppliers and internal teams to develop useful product knowledge and training
n
Partner with our Trade Sales team to identify opportunities and drive growth across the department
n
Help maintain reliable supply while balancing customer value, product quality and commercial performance
n

About You
n
You're an experienced buyer or doors and window industry professional who understands how to turn customer, market and supplier insights into strong commercial decisions.
You're curious about what's changing in the market and practical about what will work for customers and stores. You can navigate complex negotiations, remain considered under pressure and build strong relationships without losing sight of results. You'll join a collaborative team that values open communication, shared accountability and different perspectives. You enjoy working across functions, bringing people with you and helping others build capability. Most importantly, you combine sound commercial thinking with a genuine commitment to customers and team.

What you'll need
n
n
Proven buying experience within a multi-site retail workplace, or significant building industry supplier sales or account management experience
n
Strong knowledge of doors and windows products, suppliers and market dynamics
n
Demonstrated commercial acumen and an understanding of competitive retail markets
n
Strong communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills
n
Experience coaching, mentoring or supporting the development of others
n
The ability to make balanced decisions and perform effectively in high-pressure situations
n
A qualification in commerce, marketing or a related discipline would be advantageous
n
