We're looking for an experiencedDatabase Administrator (DBA)to join our team on a3-month contract based on-site in Melbourne, VIC.
n
This is a outstanding opportunity for a hands‐onSQL Serverexperience who enjoys working across database operations, performance, troubleshooting, upgrades and project support.
n
What You'll Do
n
n
Provide SQL Server administration and operational support across production and non-production environments.
n
Monitor database performance, capacity and overall health, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
n
Manage database backup, restore and recovery processes, including disaster recovery testing.
n
Monitor SQL Agent jobs, database services and routine maintenance activities.
n
Plan and execute database upgrades, migrations and approved changes.
n
Apply SQL Server patches, cumulative updates and security fixes.
n
Support application and project teams with database deployments, troubleshooting and technical advice.
n
Support monthly operating system patching and validate database services following maintenance.
n
Assist with incident resolution through established service management processes.
n
Maintain database documentation and ensure operational, security and governance requirements are met.
n
Collaborate with infrastructure, application support, project teams and external vendors.
n
Assist with broader infrastructure and operational activities as required.
n
n
What You'll Bring
n
n
3–5 years' experiencein a DBA or similar database-focused role.
n
Strong hands‐onMicrosoft SQL Serveradministration experience.
n
Experience supporting enterprise production and non-production environments.
n
Strong knowledge of database monitoring, performance tuning and troubleshooting.
n
Experience with database backup, restore and recovery processes.
n
Experience with SQL Server patching, upgrades and migrations.
n
Knowledge of SQL Agent jobs, database maintenance and health checks.
n
Exposure toVeeamand disaster recovery processes would be highly regarded.
n
Strong problem‐solving skills with the ability to manage incidents and competing priorities.
n
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
n
The ability to work collaboratively across infrastructure, application and project teams.
n
A proactive approach, with a focus on maintaining secure, stable and high-performing database environments.
n
Australian-based candidates preferred.
