This includes statutory financial reporting and external audit, controlled entity accounting and reporting, technical accounting advisory, infrastructure and asset accounting, and tax management and advisory.As the Financial Control Accountant, you will provide high-quality, specialised and complex accounting support across the Financial Control & Compliance function.
You will help maintain and improve UNSW's financial control and compliance environment through accurate reporting, technical accounting advice, stakeholder support and continuous improvement.The position reports to the relevant Manager and has no direct reportsResponsibilities Summary:Prepare and deliver month-end, year-end and other financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and reporting deadlines are met.Provide accounting support, insights and advice to internal and external stakeholders, including technical accounting assessments and implementation of changes in accounting standards.Maintain contemporary technical accounting knowledge,



including Australian Accounting Standards and Interpretations and relevant legislative and regulatory requirements.Act as a subject matter expert, providing accurate and timely responses to complex accounting questions and queries.
Preparing technical accounting memos and preparing or reviewing complex areas.Support Group Financial Control requirements, including reviewing and monitoring significant transactions, balances and cashflows.Provide timely and effective advice on financial performance and financial operational issues.Liaise with internal and external auditors, providing guidance and support to assist with audit requirements.Identify and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that improve the effectiveness and efficiency of key financial outcomes.For more information regarding the responsibilities for this role, please refer to the Position Description at ****** and Experience Summary:Tertiary qualification in Accounting, CA/CPA qualification and demonstrated successful experience in a similar accounting or financial role.Extensive technical accounting knowledge and experience applying relevant Australian Accounting Standards and Interpretations.Experience preparing technical accounting memos and preparing or reviewing complex areas such as consolidation and investment accounting,
