QELead Role and Responsibilities
n
RolePurpose
n
Atriad-level quality engineering leadership role
n
responsiblefor driving quality strategy, standards,
n
governance,and cross-squad quality outcomes, including
n
E2Einitiatives that span multiple squads, domains, platforms and externalteams.
n
Scopeof the role
n
QELead Operates at the triad level, not only at a squad level. They are expectedto support multiple squads
n
(Withinor outside of the triad) and lead quality outcomes beyond an individual squad.
n
KeyResponsibilities
n
-define and drive the quality strategy for the triad in
n
alignmentwith Digital quality goals
n
-establish and embed consistent standards for test
n
approach,automation, coverage, and release quality
n
acrosssquads
n
-lead E2E test strategy, planning, coordination, and
n
executionfor initiatives that span multiple squads,
n
domains,platforms, or external teams
n
-drive stronger collaboration between QEs and
n
developersto support shift-left testing and shared
n
ownershipof quality
n
-ensure quality is considered early through better
n
testability,acceptance criteria, and design collaboration
n
-ensure accessibility testing and visual regression
n




approachesare appropriately considered for customer-

facingweb and app experiences
n
-identify capability, tooling, standards, and process gaps
n
anddefine improvement actions
n
-coach and mentor Senior QEs and QEs across the triad
n
ormultiple squads
n
-provide clear stakeholder communication on risks,

dependencies,coverage, and readiness
n
-work with delivery, engineering, product, and external
n
teamsto coordinate cross-functional testing activity
n
-contribute to triad/stream-level quality governance and
n
-manage dependencies, risks, and defect triage activities
n
-provide clear input into release readiness
n
Experience,Skills and Qualifications
n
-Significant relevant quality engineering experience,
n
includingleadership across multiple squads, streams,
n
orproduct areas in a digital environment.
n
-Strong experience shaping quality strategy, automation
n
direction,and standards adoption across teams.
n
-Demonstrated experience leading complex E2E
n
initiativesthat require cross-team coordination and
n
stakeholdermanagement.
n
-Strong knowledge of web, app, API delivery quality
n
challenges,including accessibility testing and visual
n
regressionfor customer-facing experiences.
n
-Robust API testing knowledge and experience driving
n
adoptionof API-first testing practices.
n
-Strong communication, influencing, facilitation, and
n
AIand Tooling Expectations
n
-Defines how approved AI tooling should be used within
n
thetriad to improve quality engineering outcomes.
n
-Drives adoption of effective AI-assisted practices for test
n
design,automation acceleration, defect analysis, and
n
qualityinsight.
n
-Sets expectations for review, traceability, security, and
n
responsibleuse of AI-generated artefacts.
