The OpportunityWe are seeking an Emergency Services Officer Specialist to join our Safety team at our Tropicana Gold Mine.Accountable to the Safety Superintendent, this role is accountable for the delivery of emergency preparedness, emergency response and emergency management activities focusing on delivery of the Tropicana Gold Mine Emergency Management Plan and Emergency Response Procedures.
The role also supports health and safety delivery at the operation.This role is based at the Tropicana Gold Mine on an 8/6 FIFO roster; we operate direct flights to our sites from Perth and Kalgoorlie.Accountabilities:Supporting the implementation of our Tropicana Emergency Response Plan and auditing compliance and continually improving emergency response capabilitiesAssisting with and enhancing the site's first response capabilities, including command and control of incidents as directed by the company and continuous improvement of processes and ensuring that appropriate awareness programs are undertakenImplementing and maintaining fire and evacuation plans and support delivery of training to site personnelMonitoring and responding to site emergency response systems including but not limited to fire systems and alert/evacuation systemsConducting in office drug and alcohol testingSupporting implementation of the Mine Emergency Management Team (EMT)



Annual Exercise Schedule and maintenance of EMT skills and response preparednessConducting training (Fire Extinguisher, Fire Warden and Maintenance Training for ERT members)Review and create relevant procedures and work instructionsMaintaining routine checks of emergency response equipmentAssisting with delivering site security functionSupporting the delivery of health and safety programsScheduling and planning annual Emergency MocksAbout YouPeople are at the heart of everything we do.
