Our FaDS (Family and Disability Services) team work passionately across Queensland to make a meaningful difference in people's lives.Your part in our UnitingCare teamIn this rewarding role, you'll provide counselling and therapeutic support to children, young people, adults, families and groups.
You'll work with clients experiencing a range of concerns, including:Family and relationship challengesSeparation and divorceParenting and family wellbeingDomestic and family violenceSexual abuse and child abuseGrief and lossTrauma and recoveryYou'll undertake assessments, provide counselling and referrals, participate in case reviews, facilitate group support and education, and advocate for clients to support positive outcomes.What makes a difference for us?
A bachelor's degree (or higher) in Counselling, Psychology, Social Work, Human Services or Behavioural ScienceExperience providing counselling and therapeutic interventions within a community or human services settingKnowledge of trauma-informed, strengths-based and recovery-focused practiceExperience working with children, young people and familiesStrong communication,



advocacy and stakeholder engagement skillsExperience facilitating groups and educational programs (highly regarded)The ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary teamA current Driver License and Working with Children Check (Blue Card)Membership or eligibility for membership with APS, PACFA, ACA, AASW or FCA will be highly regardedWhat makes a difference for you?
