We achieve this by igniting a passion for learning, fostering a global community and providing cutting-edge technology that prepares students for their future.Students at CGA study at a level that matches their academic competence rather than their age, creating an workplace where motivated students can accelerate, challenge themselves and achieve exceptional academic outcomes.About the roleAs Teacher in Charge of Computing, you'll combine excellent classroom teaching with subject leadership, supporting the Head of Mathematics to deliver consistently high standards across Computing.You'll be a subject expert and a key source of guidance for other teachers, contributing to curriculum development, assessment, resources and professional development while ensuring students receive an engaging and rigorous learning experience.This is a full-time role based within our Greenwich campus, reporting to the Head of Department, with 2 release periods out of 22 teaching periods for subject leadership responsibilities.What you'll doTeach Computing expertly and deliver engaging, high-quality online lessonsSupport the Head of Department in implementing departmental prioritiesProvide advice, guidance and subject expertise to other teachersContribute to the development of schemes of work,
curriculum plans and shared teaching resourcesKeep up to date with changes to examination specifications and relevant requirementsCoordinate and/or develop tests and examinationsAssess and mark student classwork and homework and maintain accurate assessment recordsSupport the appraisal and professional development of departmental colleagues as agreed with the Head of MathematicsUse technology effectively to enhance teaching and student learningCreate and maintain a positive, supportive and academically challenging learning environmentContribute to departmental meetings, parent/teacher meetings and wider school initiativesSupport students' pastoral wellbeing and work closely with the Head of Department and Deans when concerns ariseContribute to the wider life of CGA through school events and activitiesThe role combines curriculum leadership, assessment, communication, resource development, professional development and pastoral responsibilities.About youA qualified teacher with strong subject expertise in ComputingExperienced in teaching Computing at secondary-school levelConfident planning and delivering rigorous, engaging online lessonsKnowledgeable about relevant examination specifications, assessment and curriculum requirementsAble to support, advise and develop other teachersConfident using technology and digital learning platforms to enhance teachingAn effective collaborator who can work closely with academic and pastoral teamsCommitted to your own professional development and the development of othersOrganised, reliable and committed to maintaining high academic standardsAn excellent communicator with students, parents and colleaguesPassionate about creating a positive and supportive environment in which students can excel
