Health, Safety, Security and Environment Lead
HSSE Lead – Bundey - Bundey, South Australia
IREN is seeking an experienced HSSE Lead to provide visible, practical and field-based health, safety, security and environmental leadership across our Bundey, project and operations.
Reporting to the HSSE Manager - Australia, you will work closely with site leadership, contractors and workers to ensure risks are effectively managed, compliance obligations are met, and a robust safety culture is embedded across site activities.
About You
- Certificate IV or Diploma in WHS, or relevant tertiary qualification.
- 5+ years' HSE experience within construction, energy, utilities, data centres or similar high-risk environments.
- Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation, contractor management and construction safety.
- Experience with inspections, investigations, risk assessments and permit-to-work systems.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Current Driver's Licence and Construction White Card.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily HSSE support,
coaching and guidance to site teams and contractors.
- Conduct inspections, audits, field observations and critical control verifications.
- Review SWMS, risk assessments, permits and task planning documentation.
- Support incident investigations, hazard reporting and corrective action management.
- Coordinate inductions, toolbox talks, emergency drills and consultation activities.
- Monitor contractor compliance, environmental controls, site security and housekeeping standards.
- Prepare HSSE reports and provide advice to site leadership on emerging risks and improvement opportunities
