The Role
n
Due to growth of our Adelaide Toxic Torts team, a rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Junior Lawyer (1-3 years' PQE) to support a highly regarded Partner, Caroline Knight. In this role you will be working on a range matters involving dust diseases litigation for a number of our national and international clients.

Your key responsibilities will include:
n
n
- Manage a varied caseload of dust disease claims under supervision
n
- Draft defences, statements of claim, evidence summaries, liability analyses and strategic advice
n
- Assess exposure histories and interrogate causation issues using expert evidence
n
- Prepare briefs to counsel and liaise with experts
n
- Assist with mediations,
contribution negotiations and multi-party litigation strategy
n
- Analyse and prosecute contribution claims against employers, insurers, builders and other commercial entities
n
n
Who We Are Looking For
n
The successful candidate will have the following:
n
n
- Between 1-3 years' PQE in insurance litigation, personal injury defence or commercial disputes
n
- Solid analytical skills and confidence working with technical medical evidence
n
- Excellent drafting and attention to detail
n
- Commercial mindset with the ability to balance legal and insurer objectives
n
- Professionalism and maturity when dealing with sensitive claimant circumstances
n
