Build and Deliver Enterprise Infrastructure at Scale

n

Our client is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join a high-performing technology delivery team responsible for implementing and enhancing critical enterprise infrastructure platforms.

n

This is a hands-on project delivery role where you will design, build, configure, test and implement enterprise infrastructure solutions across Windows Server, Linux, VMware, storage, backup, identity and automation technologies.

n

Working alongside architects, project managers, cyber security specialists, network engineers and vendors, you will play a key role in delivering secure, resilient and highly available technology platforms that support a large and complex operational environment.

n

About the Role

n

As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for translating approved solution designs into production-ready infrastructure, ensuring platforms are configured to enterprise standards and successfully transitioned into operational support.

n

You will contribute to major infrastructure initiatives including platform upgrades, migrations, lifecycle refreshes, automation improvements and high-availability solutions.

n

Key Responsibilities

n

Infrastructure Delivery & Implementation

n

n
- Build, configure and deploy enterprise infrastructure solutions from approved technical designs.
n
- Deliver server, virtualisation, storage, backup and identity platform implementations.
n
- Configure and support Windows Server and Linux operating environments.
n
- Perform infrastructure upgrades, migrations and lifecycle refresh activities.
n
- Implement security hardening, configuration standards and platform optimisation initiatives.
n

VMware & Virtualisation

n

n




- Deploy and administer VMware vSphere environments.
n
- Configure and support ESXi, vCenter, vMotion, DRS, HA and vSAN technologies.
n
- Implement resilient and scalable virtual infrastructure solutions.
n
- Support enterprise storage integration and platform performance optimisation.
n

n

Identity & Core Infrastructure Services

- Configure and support:n n
- Active Directory

- Microsoft Entra ID (Hybrid Identity)

- PKI and authentication services

High Availability & Resilience

n

- Design and implement highly available infrastructure platforms.

- Deploy Windows Server Failover Clustering solutions.

- Support SQL Always On Availability Groups and clustered application environments.

- Participate in disaster recovery validation, failover testing and recovery planning activities.
n

Automation & Continuous Improvement

n

- Develop and enhance infrastructure automation using:n n
- PowerShell
n
- Ansible
n
- Infrastructure-as-Code principles
n

n
- Identify opportunities to improve deployment efficiency and standardisation.
n
- Maintain build standards, automation scripts and configuration artefacts using Git-based version control.
n

n

Documentation & Handover

n

n
- Produce implementation documentation, build guides and technical standards.
n
- Create test evidence, rollback procedures and operational runbooks.
n
- Ensure successful transition of solutions into BAU support teams.
n

n

About You

n

You are a technically strong Infrastructure Engineer who enjoys delivering complex enterprise technology projects and solving challenging technical problems.

n

You will bring:

n

n
- 5+ years' experience in enterprise infrastructure engineering.
n




- Strong Windows Server administration experience across Windows Server 2016, 2019, 2022 and newer environments.
n
- Experience supporting Linux platforms including Red Hat, CentOS and Ubuntu.
n
- Strong VMware vSphere administration experience.
n
- Experience with Active Directory, Entra ID and enterprise identity services.
n
- Knowledge of storage, backup and disaster recovery technologies.
n
- Experience working within project delivery environments.
n
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical and documentation skills.
n
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication capabilities.
n

Highly Desirable Skills

- VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, DRS, HA and vSAN.
n
- Windows Server Failover Clustering.
n
- SQL Always On Availability Groups.
n
