Our client is a large and well-established transportation organisation seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to join their Melbourne CBD team on an initial 3-month temporary contract.
The Role
Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will support the payroll function with a heavy focus on payroll reconciliations and data accuracy. You will be responsible for reviewing payroll data, identifying discrepancies and ensuring payroll records are accurate and compliant.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out detailed payroll reconciliations across payroll, general ledger, superannuation and other payroll-related accounts.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies and variances.
- Review payroll data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Assist with end-to-end payroll processing and payroll adjustments.
- Reconcile leave, timesheets,
allowances, deductions and other payroll components.
- Ensure compliance with PAYG, superannuation, awards and EBA/EA requirements.
- Respond to payroll queries and assist with resolving complex payroll issues.
- Prepare payroll reports and assist with month-end and audit requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and controls.
About You
- Demonstrated experience as a Senior Payroll Officer or similar.
- Solid experience in payroll reconciliations, with excellent attention to detail.
- Solid end-to-end payroll processing experience within a large or complex organisation.
- Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, awards and enterprise agreements.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
- Strong Excel skills and experience working with large volumes of payroll data.
- Available to commence at short notice for an initial 3-month contract.
