RCR Mining Technologies (RCRMT), a leadingbusiness unit of NRW Holdings, is seeking aMechanical Design Engineer to join our Engineering team based atour Head Office in Bunbury.

This is an exciting opportunity to deliver robust engineeringsolutions for clients across Australia and internationally, workingon complex mechanical plant and equipment within the bulk materialshandling sector.

About the Role

n

Reporting to the Discipline Manager – Mechanical Engineering,you will be responsible for the design, development, verificationand validation of mechanical plant and equipment in line withAustralian Standards and statutory requirements.

n

You will collaborate closely with engineers, designers, draftingteams, project delivery and commercial stakeholders to ensurehigh-quality, compliant and practical engineering outcomes.

n

This role offers exposure across the full project lifecycle —from tender support through to detailed design, verification andproject delivery.

n

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Deliver engineering and detailed design scopes of work
n
- Perform and verify designs using FEA (ANSYS, Nastran,Strand7), first principles calculations and best practiceengineering methods
n
- Ensure compliance with relevant Australian Standards andclient specifications
n
- Apply Safety in Design principles
n
- Participate in design reviews, HAZOPs, risk assessments andconstructability workshops
n
- Manage engineering interfaces with structural andelectrical disciplines
n
- Review and approve engineering deliverables
n
- Issue and respond to Technical Queries andNon-Conformances
n
- Support pre-contracts and tendering activities withtechnical input
n




- Assist with labour estimates, schedules and costinputs
n
- Mentor graduate and junior engineers
n
- Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering systemsand processes
n

About You

n

To be successful in this role, you will have:

n

n
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering
n
- Minimum 2+ years' experience in a mechanical designengineering role
n
- Strong mechanical design capability within heavyindustry
n
- Demonstrated FEA competency (ANSYS, Nastran and/orStrand7)
n
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and engineeringdocumentation
n
- Solid understanding of engineering processes and qualitysystems
n
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
n
- Ability to manage competing deadlines in a dynamicenvironment
n

Highly regarded:

n

- Experience in bulk materials handling or machinedesign
n
- Mining or resources sector experience
n
- Autodesk Inventor proficiency
n
- Tendering and estimating exposure
n
- Working toward CPEng or RPEng
n
