About the opportunity
Buddy Advisory is pleased to be partnering with ERIAS, a boutique strategic environmental and social impact assessment consultancy specialising in project approvals across the renewable energy, resources and infrastructure sectors. ERIAS is renowned for its deep expertise in complex, challenging field environments such as Papua New Guinea, and for its work in deep sea mining.
With a 40+ person team located across Melbourne, Adelaide, Canberra and Brisbane, plus local experts and contractors in key locations like PNG, ERIAS has just kicked off a five-year strategic growth plan set to double the business in both revenue and people. ERIAS is now looking for a Payroll and Operations Manager to join the team on a part‑time, 12-month fixed‑term contract covering parental leave.
This is a trusted, hands‑on role that sits at the centre of the business, keeping payroll and office operations running smoothly for the team across Australia and PNG.
What you’ll be doing
- Own end-to-end payroll processes, ensuring accuracy of timesheets, leave records and employee data, and compliance with relevant payroll and employment obligations
- Manage office operations across our offices, including leases, cleaning and maintenance contracts, and supplier and equipment management
- Coordinate external IT providers to make sure the team has the right technology, devices, software and security in place
- Coordinate company events, team off‑sites and internal meetings
- Providing HR operations support re: onboarding and offboarding logistics,
employment contracts, systems setup and the maintenance of accurate employee records
- Provide general business administration and coordination support to the leadership team
- Assist with reporting, including headcount and payroll summaries
What you bring
- Proven experience in a Payroll Manager, Practice Manager, Office Manager or Operations role
- Experience in managing Payroll obligations is essential (MYOB experience, highly regarded)
- Experience administering an HRIS (Employment Hero experience, highly regarded)
- Robust organisational and time management skills, with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Comfortable working across multiple systems and processes
- A service‑oriented mindset, with the discretion to handle sensitive and confidential information
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities with minimal supervision
- Excellent written communication and document preparation skills
