An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Store Manager to join the leadership team of a brand-new IGA Local Grocer opening in Aratula,

This is a rare opportunity to take the lead in a new supermarket from day one. You will have the opportunity to help build the team, establish the store culture and standards, oversee the store fit-out and setup, and ultimately lead the successful day-to-day operation of the supermarket.

About the Opportunity

As Store Manager, you will play a key role in bringing this new store to life.

Working closely with the owners and management team, you will help establish the systems, standards and culture that will underpin the store's success.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Leading and developing the store team
- Delivering outstanding customer service and a great shopping experience
- Managing the day-to-day operations of the supermarket
- Maintaining high standards of presentation, merchandising and cleanliness
- Managing stock, inventory, ordering and waste
- Monitoring sales, margins, labour and other key performance indicators
- Ensuring compliance with food safety, workplace health and safety and company procedures
- Recruiting, training, coaching and developing team members
- Building strong relationships with customers, suppliers and the local community
- Supporting the successful opening and establishment of the new store
- Leading by example and creating a positive, productive workplace culture

Be There From Day One





The new IGA Local Grocer Aratula is scheduled to open in November 2026.

The successful applicant will commence prior to opening and will be actively involved in the exciting pre-opening phase, including:

- Store fit-out and preparation
- Recruitment and team development
- Merchandising and stock setup
- Systems implementation and testing
- Store procedures and operational planning
- Final preparation for opening day

You won't simply be taking over an established store — you'll help build it.

You'll have the opportunity to put your own leadership style, ideas and experience into practice and help establish a store that becomes an important part of the Aratula and surrounding community.

About You

We are looking for an enthusiastic and capable leader who takes pride in running a outstanding store and developing a great team.

Ideally, you will have:

- Previous experience managing a supermarket, grocery store or retail business
- Strong leadership and people-management skills
- A hands-on approach and willingness to work alongside your team
- Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of retail KPIs
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A strong focus on customer service
- The ability to recruit, train, motivate and develop a team
- High standards of presentation, cleanliness and attention to detail
- A positive, proactive and solutions-focused attitude
- The ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays when required
