We're excited to introduce a newly created Product Development Manager role within our growing Teaching Development & Innovation (TDI) division. This is a unique opportunity to lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for the development, enhancement and continuous improvement of learning products that support students, educators and industry across Box Hill Institute.

To support this growth, we're establishing a dedicated Product Development Manager position to lead our Product Development team and drive the successful delivery of curriculum development, learning design, multimedia development and product improvement initiatives across the Institute. This role will play a critical part in shaping how learning products are designed, developed and delivered into the future.

About the role

As the Product Development Manager, you'll lead the end-to-end planning, management and delivery of learning product development and enhancement initiatives across BHI.



You'll provide leadership to a specialist team of Learning Experience Designers, Multimedia Developers and other contributors, ensuring projects are delivered on time, to a high standard and aligned with organisational priorities.

Working closely with faculties, subject matter experts and senior stakeholders, you'll drive innovation, establish contemporary development frameworks and ensure educational products deliver meaningful outcomes for learners while meeting quality and compliance requirements.

What you'll do:

- Lead the development, refresh and enhancement of learning products across the Institute
- Provide leadership, coaching and development to a high-performing product development team
- Establish and maintain product development frameworks, methodologies and practices
- Manage project priorities, resources, timelines and delivery outcomesCollaborate with Learning Experience Designers, Multimedia Developers and subject matter experts
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement across educational product development activities
- Analyse performance data, stakeholder feedback and emerging trends to inform improvements
- Support the adoption of emerging technologies, including AI and digital learning solutions
- Monitor and manage risks affecting quality, delivery and stakeholder outcomes
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and represent the division across projects and initiatives
- Support quality assurance, compliance and continuous review of educational product

What You’ll Bring

- Understanding of the Victorian TAFE Network, OTCD and Victorian Skills priorities
- Demonstrated experience leading curriculum development, learning design or educational product development functions
- Experience leading and developing professional teams within complex organisations
- Strong knowledge of learning design principles, instructional design methodologies and adult learning practices
- Experience managing projects, stakeholders, resources and competing priorities
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
- Understanding of quality assurance, compliance and accreditation requirements within education including the AQF, Standards for RTOs and TEQSA Higher Education Standards
- Experience using learning technologies and digital platforms to support contemporary learning experiences




- A commitment to innovation, continuous improvement and learner-centred design
- Strong communication, problem-solving and strategic planning skills

Qualifications/Requirements

- Postgraduate qualification in Education, Learning Design, Instructional Design or Educational Technology; or
- Tertiary qualification in Project Management, Business or a related discipline, with relevant demonstrated experience.
- Working With Children Check
- National Police Check
