Workshop & Operations Manager - Hydraulics / Hose & Fittings
High salary based on skills & experience

Total Connections is a well-established Western Australian business specialising in hydraulic and industrial hoses, fittings, components and servicing.
With branches in Perth, Port Hedland and Kalgoorlie, we support customers across the mining, drilling, construction, transport, government and industrial sectors.
As we continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced Workshop & Operations Manager to lead our Cockburn Central team.
This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone with strong hydraulic knowledge, workshop management experience and the ability to keep people, jobs and customers moving.
About the Role
You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the workshop and operational team, including:
Leading, supervising and supporting workshop and field service technicians
Planning, scheduling and allocating workloads
Monitoring jobs to ensure they are completed safely, efficiently and on time
Providing technical support and guidance to technicians
Training, mentoring and developing team members
Scoping hydraulic repairs, service work and customer requirements
Preparing quotations and estimates
Reviewing labour, parts, materials and job costs
Coordinating field service work, shutdowns and larger projects
Managing key customer relationships
Following up quotations, outstanding work and customer requirements
Identifying opportunities for additional work and ongoing service agreements
Liaising with customers, suppliers and internal departments
Maintaining accurate job notes, documentation and ERP records
Ensuring workshop equipment,
tooling and work areas are properly maintained
Implementing and improving operational procedures
Maintaining strong workshop and mine site WHS standards
Supporting other Total Connections branches when required
This is not a purely office-based management position. You will be expected to understand what is happening on the workshop floor and provide practical direction and support when required.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who can combine strong technical knowledge with leadership, organisation and commercial awareness.
Required:
Strong knowledge of hydraulic hose, fittings and hydraulic systems
Experience within a hydraulic, mechanical, mining services or industrial workshop
Previous experience supervising or managing technicians
Strong planning, scheduling and organisational skills
Ability to scope work and prepare quotations
Strong technical and mechanical problem-solving ability
Leadership and staff development experience
Solid written and verbal communication skills
Commercial awareness, including job costing and profitability
Confidence dealing with customers and suppliers
Good computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and ERP systems
Sound knowledge of workshop and mine site WHS requirements
Current driver's licence
Full Australian working rights
Hydraulic or fluid power qualifications
Hydraulic cylinder, pump,
motor or valve experience
Hydraulic fault-finding and diagnostics experience
Mining or mobile plant experience
Previous Workshop Manager, Operations Manager, Service Manager or Branch Manager experience
Experience coordinating field service technicians, shutdowns or major projects
Vehicle-mounted crane experience
NetSuite or similar ERP experience

This position is based at our Cockburn Central operations in Perth.
The role is primarily workshop based, with occasional site visits or travel to customers and other branches when required.
