SWI Fencing
New South Wales
Job Description
SWI is a growing Australian business specialising in high-security fencing and complex infrastructure projects. We work across defence, government, transport, utilities and other critical infrastructure environments, delivering projects where safety, quality and reliability matter.
n
We're growing our national delivery team and are looking for an experienced Project Manager to take ownership of projects from mobilisation through to completion.
n
This is a role for someone who enjoys running projects, solving problems and getting things done — not simply managing paperwork. You'll have genuine accountability for programme, budget, subcontractors, client relationships, quality, safety and delivery risk.
n
If you're ready for a role where your experience is valued, your decisions matter and you can see the direct results of your work, we'd like to hear from you.
n
What you'll be doing
n
You'll take ownership of your projects from early planning through to final handover, including:
n
n
- Reviewing scope, programme, constructability and delivery risks.
n
- Developing construction methodologies, logistics and resourcing plans.
n
- Leading project mobilisation and making sure the project is set up properly from the start.
n
- Managing subcontractors, suppliers and project interfaces.
n
- Owning programme, budget, forecasting and delivery performance.
n
- Leading client and consultant meetings and building strong working relationships.
n
- Working closely with Construction Managers and site teams to keep delivery on track.
n
- Identifying and managing EOTs, risks and emerging issues early.
n
- Managing quality, safety and environmental requirements throughout the project.
n
- Managing defects, DLP, handover, O&M; manuals, as-builts and final project closeout.
n
n
What we're looking for
n
You'll be a Project Manager who takes ownership, communicates clearly and is comfortable making decisions.
n
You'll ideally have:
n
n
- 5+ years' project management experience in construction, civil or fencing projects.
n
- Experience managing subcontractors, site teams and multiple project interfaces.
n
- Strong understanding of programme, cost, risk, quality and safety.
n
- The ability to identify issues early and deal with them before they become bigger problems.
n
- Strong commercial and contractual awareness.
n
- Confidence dealing directly with clients, consultants and subcontractors.
n
- Sound technical judgement and an understanding of construction methodology and buildability.
n
- Strong organisation and communication skills.
n
- The ability to manage competing priorities while keeping the project moving.
n
n
Relevant construction management or engineering qualifications will be well regarded, along with a current driver's licence and White Card.
n
Why join SWI?
n
At SWI, you'll have the opportunity to work on high-security, defence, infrastructure and critical construction projects across Australia.
n
You'll have:
n
n
- Genuine ownership of your projects.
n
- Direct exposure to senior leadership.
n
- The opportunity to build strong, long-term client relationships.
n
- Experienced Construction Managers and delivery teams around you.
n
- The opportunity to be part of a growing national business.
n
- A role where your experience and judgement can make a real difference.
n
n
The role is regionally based, with opportunities across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Darwin and Perth, depending on project allocation. The position is predominantly office-based, with regular site visits to projects within your portfolio.
n
The opportunity
n
If you're a Project Manager who takes ownership, knows how to run a job and doesn't wait for problems to become someone else's problem, we want to hear from you.
n
If you enjoy working with positive people, dealing directly with clients and having genuine accountability for the outcome, this could be your next move.
