Job Description
The Client
n
Cars 4 All Pty Ltd is an automotive service and repair workshop based in Brooklyn, VIC, specialising in vehicle diagnostics, mechanical repairs, and routine servicing.
n
The Role
n
The Motor Mechanic is responsible for delivering diagnostic, repair, and maintenance services across a range of vehicles, ensuring all work meets technical specifications, safety standards, and customer requirements.
n
This is for two (2) full time positions with an annual salary set at $80,000 to $85,000 plus superannuation.
n
The Responsibilities
n
n
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic tools, testing equipment, and technical procedures
n
- Inspect vehicles and assess system performance across engines, transmissions, suspension, steering, and braking systems
n
- Perform servicing and maintenance tasks including oil changes, brake servicing, and system adjustments
n
- Dismantle, repair, and reassemble engine components, transmissions, and associated mechanical systems
n
- Replace defective parts and components in accordance with manufacturer specifications and repair standards
n
- Conduct testing and verification of repairs to ensure functionality, safety, and compliance
n
- Interpret technical manuals, service documentation, and repair guides to support accurate diagnostics and repairs
n
- Maintain records of servicing, repairs, and parts usage in line with workshop and compliance requirements
n
- Identify additional faults or service requirements and communicate findings to supervisors or customers
n
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with workplace safety procedures and automotive standards
n
- Maintain workshop tools, equipment, and work areas in secure and operational condition
n
- Coordinate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of jobs
n

The Requirements:
n
n
- Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent qualification
n
- Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis and/or Diploma of Automotive Technology highly regarded.
n
- At least 12 months of motor mechanical experience in a commercial workshop setting
n
- At least 12 months' experience diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults across vehicle systems
n
- Minimum 12 months' using OBD-II diagnostic tools, workshop equipment and vehicle service information.
n
- Minimum 12 months' experience performing servicing, maintenance, and repair of engines, transmissions, and braking systems
n
- Must have at least 12 months experience working with Asian and European car vehicles
n
- Must have at least 12 months motor mechanical experience with AWDs, 4WDs,
n
- Must have at least 12 months experience with Hybrid vehicles
n
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, specifications, and repair documentation
n
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to identify and resolve mechanical issues efficiently
n
- Valuable understanding of workplace safety procedures and automotive compliance standards
n
- Ability to work independently and manage workload in a workshop environment
n
- Good communication skills and ability to liaise with team members and customers
n
- Valid Driver's Licence
