School of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Work Full-time (100%), fixed-term position through to December 2027 Base salary will be in the range $120,317 - $134,893 + 17% super (HEW Level 8). Based at our Herston Campus.

About This Opportunity

The Research Manager works closely with Chief Investigators and multidisciplinary research teams to identify, develop, implement and continuously improve outcomes across the infection prevention and control research program, REBUILD. Operating within a highly collaborative, purpose-driven environment, you will provide strategic research management, project leadership and operational oversight to support high-impact research translation and meaningful outcomes for healthcare systems and communities. As part of a globally recognised university committed to creating change together, you will work with researchers, clinicians, consumers and end-users to deliver innovative and impactful research programs.

Key responsibilities

- Leading the planning, development, implementation and delivery of complex infection prevention and control research projects across multiple stages of the research lifecycle.
- Providing high-level project management support for research activities, including grants, contracts, reporting, budget planning and stakeholder engagement.
- Managing research personnel, project timelines, quality assurance activities and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Supporting researchers with research governance requirements, including ethics, research integrity, conflicts of interest, compliance and financial management.

About You

- Postgraduate qualifications or extensive research management experience within the tertiary education, health, research or related sectors; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, coordinate and manage complex research projects within multidisciplinary environments.
- Proven experience working with senior stakeholders, industry partners, consumer groups and end-users to advance research outcomes.
- Strong leadership capability with experience managing, mentoring and developing staff within a collaborative research environment.
- Exceptional writing, editing and communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated experience managing research grants, contracts, budgets, reporting obligations and associated governance requirements.




- Advanced knowledge of infection prevention and control and experience working within large, geographically dispersed research teams.
- A demonstrated commitment to the highest standards of research integrity, ethics, quality, workplace health and safety, and continuous improvement.
