Nucrush Group is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Payroll / Finance Officer to join our Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a payroll professional who enjoys taking ownership of end-to-end payroll processing while also contributing to broader finance functions within a supportive and collaborative environment.

Based in our office, this full-time role will offer the opportunity for hybrid work, once you have become established and confident in the position.

About the Role

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of the company's weekly payroll (using Micropay), ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, Enterprise Agreements, and internal policies. In addition, you will provide support across the finance team, assisting with accounts and reconciliation activities.

This role requires a high level of accuracy, confidentiality, initiative, and the ability to manage competing priorities within a busy environment.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll

End-to-end processing of weekly payroll

Set up new employees, maintain employee records, process payroll changes and terminations

Reconcile payroll and prepare payroll reports

Process superannuation in accordance with Payday Super requirements

Complete end-of-financial-year payroll reconciliations

Prepare Separation Certificates and relevant employee documentation

Reconcile and process payments to Child Support and other government agencies

Respond to payroll-related enquiries in a professional and timely manner

Prepare and lodge payroll tax returns

Accurately implement Enterprise Agreement classifications, pay rates, allowances and penalties within the payroll system

Administer annual remuneration reviews, bonuses and pay increases





Interpret Enterprise Agreements to ensure employees are paid correctly according to timesheets and work arrangements

Maintain complete confidentiality across all payroll matters

Finance

Provide support to the Finance team across various functions

Assist Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable team members during periods of leave or peak workload

Support the Finance Manager with monthly reconciliations and other finance-related tasks

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

Minimum 5 years' payroll experience , ideally processing payroll for 50-100+ employees

Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, compliance requirements and payroll best practice

Experience interpreting and applying Enterprise Agreements and pay rules

Understanding of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes

Advanced computer skills across Microsoft Office Suite and payroll systems

Previous experience with Micropay highly desirable

Experience using NetSuite would be highly regarded

Strong organisational and time management skills

Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused approach
