Join Lake Macquarie City Council's City Projects team and play a key role in delivering infrastructure and capital works projects that benefit our growing community. The Project Officer provides project and contract management services across a diverse portfolio of design and construction projects, supporting the successful delivery of Council's Capital Works Program.
This exciting role will:
- Deliver meaningful infrastructure and capital works projects that help shape Lake Macquarie's future
- Manage design and construction projects from planning and procurement through to completion
- Oversee high-value contracts and principal contractor engagements to achieve quality project outcomes
- Monitor project performance across scope, budget, program, quality and risk
- Build strong relationships with contractors, consultants, government agencies and internal stakeholders
- Prepare project reports and recommendations that support informed decision-making
- Conduct site inspections and ensure compliance with safety, governance and project requirements

We're looking for a collaborative and proactive project management professional who enjoys delivering complex infrastructure projects and building solid stakeholder relationships. You will bring experience managing design and construction projects, administering contracts, monitoring budgets and risks, and working with diverse stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes. solutions-focused and motivated by delivering projects that make a positive impact on the community, we'd love to hear from you
We're looking for someone who has:
- Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction, Project Management or a related discipline, or experience commensurate with this level of qualification
- NSW Construction Induction Card (White Card) and a current Class C Driver's Licence
- Demonstrated experience applying design and construction principles within a project delivery environment
- Experience managing contracts and administering a range of contract conditions, including Australian Standards, GC21 and Professional Services contracts
- Strong financial management skills, including cost control, budgeting and cash flow forecasting
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- High level computer skills across project, finance and business systems
- Ability to manage competing priorities and multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and organisational skills

- Competitive salary from $2,016.27 to $2,343.22per week plus 12% superannuation
- Enterprise Agreement pay increases apply
- Commencing salary set in line with skills and experience with annual reviews available to support movement through the salary range
