About us
Local Government Managers Australia Queensland (LGMA Queensland) is the peak professional association representing managers and administrators across Queensland's 77 local government councils. As a not-for-profit membership organisation, we support the people who lead and manage local government through advocacy, professional development, member services, events and sector leadership. Our work brings together local government professionals from across Queensland to learn, connect, share knowledge and strengthen the capability of the sector. We are a small, collaborative team with a strong commitment to our members and an exciting program of work ahead as we continue to strengthen and grow the support we provide to Queensland local government professionals.
About the role
As the Executive Assistant you will be a trusted partner to our CEO, providing proactive and confidential support across a broad range of executive and organisational activities. The role offers broad experience across executive support, governance, membership, finance administration, events and organisational operations.
Key responsibilities:
Executive support to the CEO, including diary management, travel booking, inbox and documentation management
Board and governance administration, including agendas, papers, minutes and actions
Membership administration and member support using Wild Apricot CRM
Finance and payroll administration,
including invoices, accounts and liaison with external providers
Support for conferences, career development programs and member events
Office administration, organisational projects and supporting continuous improvement
Work closely with the CEO, Board, team members, members and stakeholders from across Queensland local government
About you
You are highly organised, calm under pressure and comfortable working with the most senior within an organisation.
You will bring:
Demonstrated experience as an Executive Assistant or senior executive support professional.
Exceptional communication and organisational skills.
Absolute discretion and professionalism when handling confidential and sensitive matters.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
Experience in executive support, governance, office management or senior administration
Solid stakeholder and customer service skills
Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and administrative systems
Experience using Xero will be highly regarded, along with experience using Wild Apricot or a similar CRM or membership management system, financial administration and corporate governance
Experience within a professional association, membership organisation, not-for-profit, government or local government environment would also be advantageous
