Salary: From $115,452.33 base salary + super (based on experience)

Community Insights Officer

You’ll help us with:

- Optimise trust by facilitating two-way conversations with our diverse community
- Connect people, ideas, and information to deliver locally-led impact
- Make sense of what matters most to locals so we can listen and respond with a local focus

We are looking for someone who can drive trust facilitation, community engagement and data insights through the design and analysis of city-wide community engagements & engagement data in an independent, transparent and professional manner. We’re looking for someone with a strong background in data science, or community engagement, or a combination of the two, and the drive to help synthesize and contextualise community insights for the strategic advantages of local governments.

Our ideal candidate is a facilitator and connector, committed to partnership with community stakeholders and able to empower community members to comment and contribute throughout community engagement activities.



They bring facilitation and conversation strategy to BE and deliver actionable insights that demonstrate impact. They also bring data analysis expertise – from planning, processing, interprections & storytelling – with quantitative & qualitative analysis that structure evidence-informed policy decisions.

What You’ll Be Doing

- Lead the design and delivery of the City’s community insights function, ensuring best-practice data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Embed evidence-informed decision-making into projects and strategies, championing Living Locally and Locally-led Stirling.
- Design, collect, evaluate, and report on data and benchmarks relating to the impact of activities on local areas, maintaining suburb profiles and local focus plans through two-way conversations, data storytelling, and a single-entry point for community voices.
- Build and nurture relationships with community groups, local businesses, and internal stakeholders to achieve community insights outcomes.
- Identify and deliver visible, place-based wins using real community insights, turning local voices and data-driven insights into better decisions.
- Relevant tertiary qualification (or equivalent experience) in community insights, engagement, or a related discipline.




- Proven expertise in community engagement and data insights, with a track record of turning insights into action.
- Outstanding interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict management skills, with the ability to work confidently across diverse communities.
- Self-motivated, solutions-focused, and collaborative, with a knack for embedding evidence-informed insights into real-world decisions.
