Talent Register - Project Officer - Bunbury Redevelopment

Work Type: Fixed Term - Full Time, Fixed Term - Part Time, Casual

We are establishing a TalentRegister for experienced and motivated professionals interested injoining our team as Project Officers on either afixed-term or casual basis .

This register provides anopportunity to contribute to complex commissioning, transition, andservice delivery projects across a range of clinical andoperational environments.

About therole: Project Officers will support key project streamsacross infrastructure, clinical services, workforce, andorganisational change. You will contribute to planning,coordination, and delivery activities to ensure successful projectoutcomes within a dynamic healthcare environment.

DeliveryInterface and Integration

- Construction to handoverskills.
- Disruptive works andadditional site process, inclusive of risk and businesscontinuity management.

Clinical (ServicePlanning and Governance)

ServicePlanning

- Developing andfinalising models of care.
- Patientflows and operational workflows.
- Bedcapacity and demand modelling support aligned to the ClinicalServices Framework.

Clinical Governance,Safety and Quality

- Clinicalgovernance structures, policies and escalation pathways for newand changed services.
- NationalSafety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards, WA Healthmandatory policies and accreditation requirements.

Workforce andChange

- Projectworkforce planning
- Coordinating industrialrelations requirements, classification reviews, positiondescriptions and organisational structure changes.
- Managingtraining needs analysis, orientation programs and competencyrequirements for new environments and equipment;and
- Ensuringcompliance with WHS obligations across all transitionactivities, including risk assessments for moves, manualhandling and new work environments.

ChangeManagement

- Changemanagement planning, including stakeholder analysis, impactassessments and engagement strategies.
- Coordinating internalcommunications, staff engagement activities and changereadiness assessments.
- Supporting staff,reducing disruption,



strengthening readiness and helping theorganisation adopt new ways of working; and
- Monitoring changeadoption and embedding sustainability measures to supportpost-transition stabilisation.

Infrastructure

- Assetmanagement activities including facilities management systems,planned maintenance schedules and asset registers for new andrefurbished areas.
- ManagingICT deployment including WAN, passive and active communicationsinfrastructure, IP addressing, VLAN segmentation, end-userdevice commissioning and information systemsconfiguration.
- Supporting thecommissioning of medical equipment, clinical technology anddigital health platforms; and
- Ensuringinfrastructure readinessevidence.

Corporate

- Affordability,sustainability and cost drivers for new and expanded clinicalservices.
- Supporting financialmodelling, budgeting, forecasting and alignment withcommissioning and steady‑state operations.
- Contractual andprocurement planning and management; and
- Accommodation

Commissioning andTransition Experience:

We are particularlyinterested in candidates with experience project experience andsupport to commissioning and transition activitiesacross:

- MainEntry
- Emergency Department(including Short Stay Unit)
- AcutePsychiatric Unit (including authorisationprocesses)
- ClinicalTower (Theatres, CSSD, ICU, Maternity, Medical)
- Back ofHouse services
- Teaching, Training andResearch facilities
- Helipadoperations

Bunbury HospitalRedevelopment Project is Western Australia's biggest ever regionalhospital upgrade.

Once complete, it will be amodern community healthcare hub for the Southwestregion.

The redevelopment projectwill deliver:

- Construction of a newseven-storey clinical tower and helideck
- Adedicated new mental health observation unit
- Anexpanded acute psychiatric unit
- Asignificantly expanded emergency department
- Additional operatingtheatres and a new central sterilisation department
- Recent andexpanded maternity, birthing, and neonatal services
- Increased inpatient wardcapacity
- WA’sfirst regional healthcare training, education, and researchcentre

The project also includesexpansion and refurbishment of main entry plus additionalshort‑term parking.

Construction of the towerand main works is expected to be completed in early-2028, withoperational commissioning complete inmid-2028.

The type of vacancies thatmay arise include:

- ShortTerm Contracts – Fixed Term employment under twelve (12)months.
- BothPart Time and Full Time options are available for all ofthese.
