Alexion, AstraZeneca Rare Disease, is focused on transforming the lives of people affected by rare diseases through the discovery, development and delivery of life-changing therapies. In this environment, supply chain performance is critical: patient populations may be small, demand can be highly variable and therapies often require carefully managed distribution and logistics.

The Associate Director, Supply Chain Account Management (ANZ) is a meaningful role within the Alexion Rare Disease Business Unit, acting as the primary interface between Global Supply Chain and the Australia & NewZealand affiliates.

The role is accountable for leading the MarketS&OP; (IBP) process for ANZ, ensuring integrated planning and robust decision-making across demand, supply, and distribution ensuring that life-changing therapies are delivered reliably to patients in a highly complex and sensitive rare disease environment.

Operating within a low-volume, high-variability demand context, the role partners closely with Commercial, Quality, Medical, and Finance teams to ensure that patient-centric demand insights are translated into robust plans, while proactively managing supply constraints, long lead times, and market-specific challenges.

The role combines strategic business partnering with hands‑on operational leadership, ensuring seamless execution from demand planning through to final product delivery to patients.

What you’ll do

- Lead the ANZS&OP; and Integrated Business Planning process,



driving cross‑functional alignment and informed business decisions.
- Translate patient and market insights into demand and supply plans that support continuity of supply and patient access.
- Facilitate governance forums and leadership reviews, providing transparent insights to support decision‑making.
- Lead all aspects of distribution, inventory and logistics performance across ANZ, ensuring compliant, reliable and patient‑focused delivery.
- Act as the single point of contact for all supply chain, distribution and logistics matters across ANZ, building positive relationships with Commercial, Medical, Market Access, Finance, Regulatory and Quality teams.
- Lead supply chain readiness for new product launches, indications, product transitions and lifecycle management activities.
- Monitor and improve forecast accuracy, service levels and supply reliability, proactively identifying and mitigating risks.
- Drive continuous improvement across planning, data quality, distribution performance and digital capabilities.
- Champion the adoption of AI‑enabled solutions to improve decision-making, operational agility and productivity across market operations.

Essential for the role

- Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Science or a related field, with equivalent experience also considered.
- Strong experience across demand planning or IBP, supply chain operations, and distribution and logistics management.
- Experience working in complex, high‑variability demand environments.
- Proven ability to influence cross‑functional stakeholders in a matrix environment and lead structured decision‑making.
- Experience managing 3PLs, specialty distribution channels or regulated logistics networks.
- Demonstrated agility and patient‑centred focus, including the ability to deliver time‑critical supply outcomes outside normal business hours when required.
- Willingness and ability to work closely with global stakeholders, including regular communication and collaboration with teams based in Dublin, Ireland, to support supply planning and operational priorities.





Desirable for the role

- Experience in rare disease, specialty care or biopharmaceutical environments.
- Experience managing product launches with complex distribution requirements.
- Familiarity with SAP, IBP or other planning systems.
- Understanding ofGood Distribution Practice (GDP), cold chain and patient‑critical supply chains.
