Pymble Ladies' College Sydney

New South Wales

Pymble Ladies’ College is a school of the Uniting Church in Australia for girls Kindergarten to Year 12 with boarding from Year 7. At Pymble, we foster a world-class educational environment with the importance of global citizenship and a worldwide perspective central to our strategic intent.

We believe our staff, both teaching and non-teaching, are our most valuable resource. We are proud to have passionate and dedicated staff who recognise the unique strengths and qualities of every Pymble girl.

The role

A new chapter. A new sense of purpose. Come join us at Pymble Ladies' College in Boarding.

Perhaps you are looking for a role that draws on everything you have learned, as a parent, a mentor, an educator, or simply someone who has spent a lifetime understanding what young people need to thrive. Perhaps you are ready to bring that experience, your steadiness, your judgement and your care, into a community where it will genuinely matter every single day.

As Head of House, you will do more than oversee a boarding house, you will lead it. Living onsite, you will lead and mentor a team of House staff, building a culture where every girl is seen and known as a whole person, feels happy and safe, and has what she needs to thrive. You will walk alongside the girls through the ups and downs of adolescence, backing them through the hard days and celebrating the wins, and being someone they know they can rely on.

This is a role for someone who understands teenagers, who leads people with clarity and care, and who feels called to this work rather than simply choosing it. You will work alongside the other Heads of House, the Director of Boarding and your wider team to deliver a seamless, values-led Boarding experience across our four Houses, grounded in Care, Courage, Responsibility, Respect and Integrity.

Being part of the everyday rhythm of the House is what makes this role what it is. You'll be rostered for up to 43 hours a week during term time, most of that time spent alongside the Boarders, with the remainder set aside for the administrative work that keeps the House running smoothly.

Four nights a week, you'll be there overnight, present for the small moments and the big ones. Boarding life doesn't stop neatly at the end of term either, so you'll also be on deck occasionally outside term time, including the week before the school year starts and the last two weekdays of each break, whenever the College needs you there.

It is demanding. It is also work you will carry with you long after these young women have grown and gone.

Our kind of team member

You willdemonstratethe following attributes and capabilities:

- Previousexperience in supporting and mentoring of Boarders or young people
- Demonstrated passion for working with students in a residential setting and dedication to supporting their physical, emotional, spiritual, academicand social needs

- Knowledge of relevant legislation, standardsand practices relevant to a boarding environment
