About the Role

As Director of Events, you'll lead the strategic direction and day-to-day success of our Events Sales & Planning team, overseeing one of Melbourne's premier luxury event operations.

Working closely with the Director of Sales & Marketing and key hotel leaders, you'll drive revenue growth, inspire a high-performing team and ensure every conference, meeting,



wedding and special event reflects the exceptional standards of Park Hyatt Melbourne.

This is an opportunity to combine commercial leadership with exceptional guest experiences, shaping memorable events while developing your team and contributing to the hotel's ongoing success.

Some of the responsibilities include:

Lead, coach and develop the Events Sales & Planning team to deliver exceptional client experiences and commercial results.

Drive revenue across MICE, catering, group and short-lead business while achieving and exceeding budget targets.

Oversee the end-to-end sales and planning process for a diverse portfolio of luxury events.

Partner with Rooms, Food & Beverage and operational teams to ensure seamless event delivery.

Build and maintain strong relationships with clients through site inspections, presentations and ongoing engagement.

Identify new business opportunities and represent the hotel at industry events and trade shows.

Manage complex, high-value events with exceptional attention to detail and service excellence.

Ensure compliance with Hyatt brand standards, policies and operational procedures.

Qualifications

Previous leadership experience in luxury hotels or premium hospitality.

Proven success leading high-performing teams and achieving commercial targets.

Strong knowledge of MICE, group and catering sales.

Outstanding communication, relationship-building and negotiation skills.

Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a quick-paced environment.

Creativity, commercial acumen and a passion for delivering memorable guest experiences.

Relevant qualifications in Hospitality, Tourism, Business or Event Management are desirable.

Experience with Opera and event management systems will be highly regarded.
