About the role:
n
We currently have a position available for a casual driver looking for a varied, dynamic driving routes transporting Dangerous goods to customer sites on an ad hoc basis.
n
This role will cover metro and remote deliveries covering FNQ with the occasional overnight trip.
n
The role suits drivers interested in casual work and not a consistent fulltime role, as it will be supporting the site with extra workload and staff leave.
n
You will be provided with comprehensive training and mentoring learning to load and unload various liquid DG and non-DG products the Chemtrans way and join a highly experienced operation.
n
This role will also provide opportunities to advance further into our Explosive division.
n
Responsibilities:
n
n
- Operating under BFM and transporting bulk DG liquids around Townsville and surrounding areas.
n
- Unloading of Bulk Tankers, ISOs and palletised freight at customer sites.
n
- Mainly local routes,
with some linehaul overnight trips.
n
- Using chemical suits and specific PPE such as respirators when required.
n
- Pumping of DG products using electric, diesel and diaphragm pumps.
n
- Adhering to safety and compliance policies and procedures.
n
- A solid commitment to safety regulations, ensuring safety standards are adhered to.
n
n
Success Profile:
n
n
- Minimum MC licence with at least 1 year of proven heavy vehicle driving experience
n
- Dangerous Goods licence- or willing to obtain
n
- Basic Fatigue Management accreditation- or willing to obtain
n
- A solid commitment to safety regulations
n
- Good driving history
n
- Ability to follow instructions, and to communicate effectively
n
- Must be available for ad-hoc weekend work
n
