Role Description

Sigma Aerospace Workforce is seeking a CASA Part 66 B1.3 Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer to support helicopter maintenance operation at Essendon Fields, Melbourne.

The role sits within an OEM aircraft maintenance and support environment covering aircraft deliveries, modifications, scheduled and heavy maintenance activities across rotary-wing product range. The successful engineer will work within an authorised maintenance environment and support the wider maintenance team.

You will

- Perform scheduled and associated aircraft maintenance activities
- Coordinate maintenance activities and work within approved procedures
- Exercise licence privileges and issue maintenance releases within authorised coverage
- Complete individual quality control activities
- Support hangar, tooling and GSE upkeep
- Provide on-the-job support and training to AMEs and apprentices
- Support helicopter product-line activities as required
- Undertake domestic or international travel and OEM training where required

Essential Requirements

Required Role Experience

Current or recent rotary-wing aircraft maintenance experience, with a sound scheduled-maintenance background preferred. Existing aircraft type coverage is strongly preferred but is not mandatory.

Maintenance Qualification / Licence:

CASA Part 66 B1.3 Licence is required. Will consider suitable B1.3 candidates without an existing aircraft type rating through its first-of-type pathway.

Work Rights:

Australian/domestic candidates only. International candidates and visa sponsorship are not available for this role.

Location / Availability:

Must be Melbourne based or genuinely prepared to relocate to Melbourne. This is a Monday-Friday, non-FIFO position. Interstate candidates may be considered, with relocation circumstances to be identified at submission.

Additional Requirements:

Ability to hold a valid ASIC.

Current Human

Factors training required. Current or attainable Police Background Check required.

Skills:

Aircraft maintenance knowledge, scheduled-maintenance capability, sound technical documentation practices, individual quality control and the ability to work within an OEM maintenance environment.

Attitude:

Qualified, safety-focused, reliable and collaborative. Strong communication and team-fit are important, with a practical approach to supporting AMEs and apprentices.

Preferred Aircraft Experience

Existing type coverage is preferred, particularly AW109, AW139 and/or AW169. Relevant helicopter experience will be highly regarded.

First-of-Type Pathway:

Suitable CASA B1.3 LAMEs without an existing type rating may still be considered. We can support first-of-type development through its journal and type-training pathway.
