Varstaff is looking for an Indirect Buyer III

As an Indirect Buyer, you will manage the end-to-end procurement lifecycle for indirect categories, focusing on standard Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) products, Engineering Technology/Information Technology (ET/IT) hardware, and aerospace-related materials or services. You will partner with internal engineering and IT teams, evaluate and select vendors, navigate specialized aerospace compliance standards, and execute cost-saving negotiations in a fast-paced setting.

Key Responsibilities

- Execute the full procurement lifecycle for indirect goods, including processing purchase requisitions, converting them into purchase orders, and issuing RFQs/RFPs.

- Procure standard COTS products and manage distributor/manufacturer relationships to identify standardization opportunities.

- Purchase ET/IT hardware (computing equipment, networking components, test equipment) and coordinate technical specifications with stakeholders.

- Support aerospace-related procurement by navigating specialized quality certifications, traceability, and compliance standards.

- Develop supplier relationships, negotiate favorable pricing and terms, and resolve delivery or invoice discrepancies.





- Maintain accurate procurement records and ensure compliance with internal company policies, contractual terms, and audit requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

- 5+ years of procurement/purchasing experience, preferably in an indirect buying capacity (Candidates with 3–4 years of experience may be considered for a Level II role).

- Demonstrated hands-on experience procuring COTS products and IT/technology hardware.

- Strong negotiation and strategic supplier management skills.

- Proficiency with major ERP/procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Coupa) to process requisitions and track procurement workflows.

- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in aerospace, defense, or highly regulated manufacturing environments.

- Familiarity with aerospace quality standards and procurement compliance requirements.

- Professional supply chain certification (e.g., CPM, CPSM, or equivalent).

- Experience with strategic sourcing and category management.
