Assistant Centre Manager

Tall Tree Early Learning, Banksia Grove

Are you a detail-focused, process-driven leader who thrives on getting things right? Tall Tree Early Learning Banksia Grove, part of the respected Tall Tree and Atlantis Group, is looking for an experienced Assistant Centre Manager ready to build the foundations for a future Centre Manager role.

This isn’t just a support position — it’s a deliberate step on a leadership pathway. We invest in Assistant Centre Managers who are organised, meticulous, and process-driven, because those are exactly the strengths that make a great Centre Manager. If you want a explicit pathway to centre leadership, and you’re the kind of person who double-checks the roster, keeps compliance airtight, and never lets a detail slip, we want to hear from you.

About Tall Tree and Atlantis For over 29 years, Atlantis and Tall Tree have been trusted by families across Perth’s northern suburbs for delivering exceptional early childhood education. With 10 Early Learning Centres and 9 Outside School Hours Care services, we proudly support children aged 0–12 with enriching, safe, and nurturing environments that support every stage of development.

Our programs are rooted in the Reggio Emilia philosophy and the Early Years Learning Framework, and we are deeply committed to nature-inspired learning experiences that foster curiosity, creativity, and connection.

What We Offer

- A defined path to Centre Manager: structured mentoring and on-the-job development designed to prepare you for centre leadership when the time is right.

- Inspiring workspaces: a beautifully designed nature school and learning approach.
- Supportive leadership: passionate leaders who value your input and actively invest in your development.

- Professional growth: ongoing professional development and on-the-job learning opportunities.
- Recognition and rewards: a culture that celebrates achievements, with team bonuses and performance incentives.

- Wellbeing focus: our Employee Health and Wellbeing Program, including complimentary annual flu vaccinations.

- Connection and community: regular team-building days and social events.

- Employee perks: staff discounts across all Atlantis Group centres for early learning and OSHC services.

About the Role

As Assistant Centre Manager, you’ll support the daily operations of the service while helping to lead and inspire a team of passionate educators. This is a full-time, Monday to Friday position suited to someone who is as comfortable with process and paperwork as they are on the floor with children and families.

You’ll work closely with the Centre Manager and step into their shoes when required — good practice for the organisation and decision-making a Centre Manager needs every day.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Supporting the Centre Manager in the day-to-day operations and running of the centre
- Leading and mentoring educators to ensure exceptional care and educational practices
- Building a positive and collaborative team culture
- Ensuring documentation and programming meet quality and regulatory standards, with a close eye for accuracy and completeness
- Championing child safety by modelling and upholding our child protection policies, reporting obligations, and safe practices every day
- Building strong, respectful relationships with families, children, and the wider community
- Managing administrative processes — rostering, compliance records, family tours, and parent communication — with consistency and precision
- Managing the service in the Centre Manager’s absence with confidence and professionalism

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking someone who is naturally organised and process-driven, brings a sharp eye for detail to everything they do,

and is genuinely motivated to grow into a Centre Manager role. You lead by example and are committed to a culture of quality, collaboration, and kindness.

You will have:

- Experience: a minimum of 2 years in a leadership or 2IC role within an early learning setting
- Qualifications: a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (or higher), along with current First Aid, CPR, Child Protection training, and a valid WWCC
- Attention to detail: a track record of accurate documentation, compliance, and follow-through — the small things done right, every time
- Process orientation: confidence following and improving structured processes across rostering, compliance, and administration
- Organisation: solid time management and the ability to multitask calmly in a busy, fast-paced environment
- Leadership potential: confidence guiding and inspiring a team, with a clear ambition to progress into centre leadership
- Professionalism: a high standard of personal presentation, integrity, and communication
- Eligibility: full working rights in Australia are essential

Our Commitment to Child Safety

Tall Tree and Atlantis are committed to being child safe organisations. The safety, wellbeing, and voices of children come first in every decision we make, and we align our practice with the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations and our obligations as mandatory reporters.

All applicants are screened in line with our child safe recruitment process, including a valid Working with Children Check, reference and identity checks, and current Child Protection training. As Assistant Centre Manager you will help lead a culture where children feel safe, respected, and listened to, and where concerns are raised and acted on promptly.
