Curis Recruitment is proud to partner with this fantastic Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service in the Northern Territory to help them find a Aboriginal Health Practitioner to their team.

This is an amazing opportunity for an experienced Aboriginal Health Practitioner who is passionate about providing culturally responsive, holistic primary healthcare and improving health outcomes for Aboriginal communities across the Barkly region.

You’ll work as part of a friendly and qualified multidisciplinary team, providing healthcare both in Tennant Creek and across surrounding remote communities.

- Permanent full-time position
- $1,000 Curis sign-up bonus*
- Base salary to $118,348.25 + Super
- Subsidised housing available
- Generous salary packaging up to $15,899.94 per annum
- $1,500 professional development allowance per annum
- $1,500 remote retention allowance after 1 year of service
- $3,000 remote retention allowance after 2 years of service
- Relocation assistance up to $5,000
- 6 weeks annual leave

The Role

As an Aboriginal Health Practitioner, you’ll provide high-quality primary healthcare to Aboriginal people living in Tennant Creek and surrounding remote communities across the Barkly region.

Working as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team, you’ll provide health assessments, immunisations, treatment and emergency care, while also helping clients and families stay on top of their ongoing health and wellbeing.

If you’re an experienced Aboriginal Health Practitioner or you’re just starting out in your AHP career, we’d love to hear from you! You’ll be joining a supportive team where you can continue developing your skills, gain valuable remote experience and make a genuine difference in the community.

Some of your responsibilities will include:





- Providing triage and responding to emergency healthcare needs in remote communities
- Conducting scheduled and opportunistic health assessments
- Providing immunisations and treatment within your scope of practice
- Working in line with CARPA guidelines and organisational policies and procedures
- Following up clients after preventative health assessments and GP Management Plans
- Supporting clients and families with their ongoing healthcare needs
- Advocating for the health and wellbeing of individuals, families and communities
- Travelling to surrounding remote communities across the Barkly region
- Providing health education and capacity-building sessions within communities

To be eligible you must

- Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person – Identified Position
- AHPRA registration as an Aboriginal Health Practitioner
- Hold a Certificate IV in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care Practice
- Experience working in Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services or remote primary health care highly regarded
