Xavier Children’s Support Network is seeking a motivated and compassionate Allied Health Assistant (AHA) to join our multidisciplinary team, supporting children, young people, adults with disability, and a small number of aged care clients.
This community-based role provides clinical and administrative support to Allied Health Professionals in delivering person-centred therapy services that promote participation, independence, wellbeing, and quality of life. The role is based across clinics and client homes throughout Eight Mile Plains, Ipswich, Logan, and surrounding suburbs.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Allied Health Professionals to deliver individual and group therapy programs, including hydrotherapy, equipment trials, and community-based interventions.
- Implement delegated therapy activities in line with client care plans and clinical direction, while monitoring client progress and reporting concerns or changes to supervising clinicians.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation, service records, appointments, schedules, waitlists, and client administration.
- Prepare and maintain therapy equipment, resources, and clinical environments, and support billing, funding, and service delivery processes.
- Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team, building positive relationships with clients, families, carers, and stakeholders while participating in supervision and professional development.
Essential Requirements
- Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance or current undergraduate studies in an Allied Health discipline.
- Ability to obtain a Blue Card, NDIS Worker Screening Clearance, and National Police Check.
- Current Open Queensland Driver Licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.
- Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of professional boundaries, multidisciplinary practice, and person-centred care.
- Ability and willingness to travel across multiple locations throughout Brisbane and surrounding areas to support clients.
- Australian working rights, citizenship, or permanent residency.
