ADD VALUE - THE ROLE The Community Development Specialist is responsible for designing, implementing and evaluating initiatives that strengthen our community, increase social participation and improve community wellbeing across the Singleton LGA.
In this role, you will work collaboratively with residents, community organisations, government agencies and service providers to identify local priorities, build strong partnerships and deliver initiatives that foster inclusion, participation and community resilience. You will lead the planning, delivery and ongoing review of Council's key community strategies and action plans, including the Community Development Strategy, Disability Inclusion Action Plan,
Reconciliation Action Plan and other initiatives that support positive and sustainable outcomes for the Singleton community.
As a key advocate for the community, you will build positive relationships across a broad range of stakeholders and ensure community insights and feedback contribute to informed planning, service delivery and decision-making.
Essential Criteria for this role:
- A degree qualification in Community Development, Community Services, Social Sciences or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience delivering community development and capacity-building initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of contemporary community development practices, social inclusion principles and place-based approaches.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and partnership-building skills.
- Experience developing, implementing and evaluating community programs and projects.
- Highly developed organisational, reporting and administrative skills, with proven experience in coordinating grant funding processes, preparing high-quality reports, managing competing priorities, and maintaining compliance with legislative, Child Secure and Work Health and Safety obligations.
- A current Class C Driver Licence.
- Working With Children Check.
This position is offered on a Permanent, Full-time basis working 35 hours per week. Remuneration package for this position is based on Grade 14 of Council's Salary System Protocol which equates to a base salary of $117,217 - $131,854 per annum plus superannuation.
