St Laurence's College is a Catholic School in the Edmund Rice Tradition with an enrolment of approximately 2000 boys from Years 5-12.

Applications are invited for the permanent, full-time position of Head of Students - Year 5, with the start date to be Monday 18 January 2027.

The Head of Students – Year 5, in conjunction with the Dean of Primary, is responsible for implementing the overall direction of Year 5 and, in particular, the pastoral care and formation programs for students within this year level, ensuring seamless continuity of learning and formation within the Primary school.

Under the leadership of the Dean of Primary, the Head of Students – Year 5 is expected to lead the promotion and development of effective strategies and programs that are based on contemporary research about boys’ education, particularly learning and teaching, school behavioural management programs and student well-being issues in order to develop a caring, supportive and responsive environment for all students within these year levels.

in conjunction with the Head of Students – Year 6, form key roles within both the Pastoral Leadership Team and the Wellbeing and Engagement Teams. The Head of Students – Year 5 will lead positively and enthusiastically, complying with all EREA and College Policies and ensure that programs in Year 5 support the College mission.

All applicants must hold a current Queensland Teacher Registration with the Queensland College of Teachers.
