If you have ever pulled together a tender, priced a scope or built a submission and thought "I want to own this side of the business", this is the role that gets you there.
About the Role Reporting to the National Estimator, you will price commercial HVAC maintenance, from $1,000 service quotes through to tenders in the $40,000 to $200,000 range. The largest submission to date sat at $1.5 million.
You will:
- Prepare and price HVAC maintenance proposals and contract renewals
- Support commercial tenders and pricing submissions
- Build pricing from the ground up, covering labour staging, scheduling, equipment scopes and whole of contract cost
- Review scopes of work, specifications, pricing schedules and procurement documents
- Liaise with service teams, managers and subcontractors to confirm pricing and service requirements
- Coordinate deadlines and submission requirements across multiple live opportunities
Once you understand the standards and the labour behind maintenance, you can scale it, price it and present it. That is a skill that travels, and this is a business set up to teach it to you properly.
What You'll Need to Succeed
- Experience preparing tenders, bids, proposals or submission documentation, or a background in HVAC, mechanical services or estimating
- Strong written communication and attention to detail, this role lives and dies on clear documents
- The ability to interpret scopes, specifications and commercial documentation
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Robust computer literacy and confidence across digital systems
- A keen interest in developing your estimating, pricing and commercial skills
- Located North of the River | Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
Highly regarded:
- Commercial HVAC or mechanical services experience
- Preventative maintenance, facilities maintenance or compliance exposure
- Experience with subcontractor pricing or service scopes
- Understanding of maintenance standards, schedules and labour requirements
Worth knowing: maintenance estimating is its own discipline. A purely construction or project estimating background can still work here, but any exposure to maintenance contracts, proposals or service tenders will put you well ahead.
Why You'll Love It
- A national business with a strong industry reputation behind you
- A genuine step up, with exposure to other areas of the business as you develop
- Ongoing mentoring from experienced estimators, not a sink or swim handover
- Diverse commercial maintenance work, chillers, plant replacements and planned maintenance contracts, no two days the same
- Career growth in a narrow, specialised field where good estimators are hard to replace
- A collaborative, supportive team and a North of the River base
