Role Description The Facade Drafter – Autodesk Inventor Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Sydney, NSW. This position is responsible for creating detailed façade and glazing shop drawings using Autodesk Inventor and related drafting tools, including 3D models, assemblies, and fabrication details. Day-to-day tasks include interpreting architectural and structural drawings, developing accurate window, door, and curtain wall layouts, preparing sections and details, and coordinating with project managers and engineers to resolve design queries.





The role also involves updating drawings in line with design changes, ensuring that all documentation aligns with project specifications, standards, and client requirements. The specialist will contribute to continuous improvement of drafting templates, workflows, and drawing standards to support efficient project delivery.

Qualifications

- Strong proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and other CAD tools commonly used for façade and glazing drafting.
- Experience producing detailed shop drawings for windows, doors, curtain walls, glass roofs, and façade cladding systems.
- Solid understanding of structural drafting principles and the ability to interpret architectural and engineering documentation.
- Attention to detail in preparing window schedules, elevations, floor plans, sections, glass schedules, and fabrication drawings.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with designers, engineers, project managers, and fabrication teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced drafting environment.
- Relevant qualification in drafting, engineering, architecture, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Knowledge of Australian building codes and façade industry standards is highly beneficial; experience in the glazing sector is an advantage.
