You will build capability in agricultural developments while also gaining exposure to broader civil, infrastructure and built environment projects across RMA’s consulting portfolio.

Based out of Toowoomba, an agricultural centre, you will be supported by senior engineers, a dedicated coach and a values-driven team committed to helping graduates grow, contribute and enjoy the work they do.
The opportunity
As a Graduate Engineer, you will be involved in the full journey of agricultural and regional development projects, from early planning and design through approvals, documentation and delivery support.
- Develop practical agricultural engineering skills – Contribute to farm development projects involving processing facilities, earthworks, roadworks, stormwater systems, services infrastructure, and water and waste management.
- Work on complex farming developments – Support new farm layouts and expansions to existing facilities across the meat, poultry and macadamia industries, including high-tech processing facilities, rearing and livestock operations, large-scale accommodation facilities and ancillary farm structures.
- Follow projects from concept to delivery – Assist with concept planning, detailed design, documentation, tendering and delivery support so you understand how engineering decisions become constructed outcomes.
- Broaden your consulting experience – Gain exposure to land development, infrastructure and other built environment sectors while continuing to build depth in agricultural projects.
- Learn from experienced specialists – Work with senior engineers, technical specialists and project teams to develop practical, compliant and commercially aware solutions for regional clients.
- Connect with projects and people – Visit regional project sites, contribute to a high-performing team and collaborate with colleagues across RMA offices.
You will gain knowledge and develop responsibility for:
- Understanding farming operations and converting client needs into practical engineering inputs
- Preparing concept and detailed designs using 12d and AutoCAD, with training provided
- Applying relevant codes, standards, approval pathways and compliance requirements for farming development
- Engaging with agricultural clients, councils, contractors, utilities and specialist consultants
- Working with project quality systems, technical specifications, environmental considerations and engineering standards
- Supporting safe, practical and cost-effective outcomes for agricultural and regional development projects
About you:

Minimum requirements:
- Bachelor of Agricultural Engineering or Civil Engineering, completed or nearing completion
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, plans and construction details
- Sound written, verbal, numerical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work within quality, financial and administrative systems
- Open, unrestricted Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel to regional project sites
- Queensland Construction Induction Card (White Card), or willingness to obtain one before commencing
- Full working rights in Australia and ability to work without sponsorship
