Role - Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Technical Architect / Lead - ICT to join a major Cyber Security Program delivering critical firewall replacement and upgrade initiatives within a large, complex enterprise environment.

In this technical leadership role, you will provide expert guidance and hands-on implementation across enterprise firewall and network security platforms. You will play a key role in designing, deploying and optimising security infrastructure while working closely with project teams, operational teams and technology partners to deliver secure, scalable and high-performing solutions.

This opportunity is ideal for a senior infrastructure or security specialist with strong experience across Check Point, Palo Alto and enterprise network security technologies.

Employment Type and Duration: Contract 12 months plus extensions

Work Model: Hybrid

Location: Brisbane CBD, QLD

Key Responsibilities

· Lead the deployment, upgrade and configuration of enterprise firewall solutions, primarily Check Point technologies

· Provide technical leadership across firewall replacement and cyber security projects

· Support and optimise Check Point and Palo Alto security environments





· Integrate firewall solutions with Cisco routing and switching infrastructure

· Collaborate with project teams, vendors and operational stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery

· Monitor firewall performance, availability and security compliance

· Conduct advanced troubleshooting, root cause analysis and issue resolution

· Develop solution designs, implementation plans, technical documentation and change artefacts

· Support firewall policy optimisation and governance activities

· Provide strategic advice on emerging technologies and network security best practices

Required Skills & Experience

· Extensive hands-on experience with Check Point firewall technologies including implementation, upgrades and policy optimisation

· Strong experience with Palo Alto enterprise security solutions

· Proven experience with Cisco routing and switching in large-scale environments

· Experience with F5 technologies including LTM, GTM and WAF

· Knowledge of secure web gateways, proxy technologies and enterprise network security solutions

· Experience with AlgoSec or similar network security policy management tools





· Experience using SolarWinds or similar monitoring and reporting platforms

· Strong understanding of cyber security frameworks, standards and best practices

· Demonstrated experience producing high-quality technical designs, implementation plans and operational documentation

· Excellent analytical, troubleshooting and stakeholder management skills

· Experience working within large and complex ICT environments

· Knowledge of Service Management and ITIL processes including incident, problem and change management
