Oodnadatta Hospital is seeking an experienced Nurse Unit Manager to lead its Medical/Paediatric/Surgical ward across Emergency, Acute, and Triage areas. This is a full time contract position running from 16 September 2026 to 15 January 2027 (17 weeks), offering a salary of AUD$109.32 to AUD$117.03 per hour plus a rural and remote allowance. Based in Oodnadatta, this role provides an opportunity to make a real difference in a remote healthcare setting, managing clinical operations and supporting a dedicated nursing team in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary environment.

- Lead clinical operations across ED, Acute, and Triage with full responsibility for ward management and staff coordination
- AUD$109.32 to AUD$117.03 per hour, plus rural and remote allowance (MM7)
- Full-time contract (76 hours per fortnight) in a remote healthcare setting with scope for flexible deployment based on operational needs

Preferred Requirements





- Current registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) with demonstrated Nurse Unit Manager (RN3) experience
- Proven clinical leadership and ward management skills in a multi-disciplinary setting
- Strong knowledge of emergency, acute, and triage nursing practices
- Ability to manage staff rostering, clinical governance, and operational efficiency
- Flexibility to work across different clinical areas and adapt to changing operational priorities

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent, with current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Formal qualification or demonstrated experience in nursing management or leadership
- Experience working in rural or remote healthcare settings is highly valued
