Installation Manager

We are recruiting an experienced Installation Manager to lead installation works across building, construction and architectural projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering installations safely, on time and within budget while managing teams, subcontractors and stakeholder relationships. This role requires strong project management ability, commercial awareness and hands-on site experience.

The Role
You will be responsible for managing the successful installation of all projects to ensure they are installed on time and that all contractual and legislative / compliance obligations are met. You will engage and supervise site workers to deliver the project install and make daily informed decisions which balance both commercial objectives and health & safety considerations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all installation activities from mobilisation to handover
- Consult directly with designers and engineers to develop assembly and installation methodologies throughout project stages, to influence design
- Coordinate resources, labour, plant and materials to meet programme milestones and minimise disruption
- Manage and coach site teams and subcontractors; drive high standards of workmanship and performance
- Carry out risk assessments, develop method statements and implement safe systems of work
- Maintain compliance with health and safety legislation and company policies; promote a positive safety culture
- Monitor progress, identify and resolve issues, and escalate where necessary to protect programme and commercial outcomes
- Prepare and review programme updates, progress reports and site records
- Analyse contracts and variations, manage change control and support commercial negotiations
- Control site costs, report on budgets and support forecasting
- Liaise with clients, design teams, supply chain and internal stakeholders to ensure successful delivery and handover
Skills and experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in construction and building installation projects
- Strong project management skills with the ability to plan, coordinate and deliver complex installations
- Commercial acumen and experience managing budgets, variations and contractual matters
- Experience in people management, including supervising multi-disciplinary teams and subcontractors
- Competence in planning, programming and resource management
- Thorough knowledge of safety and risk assessment processes and demonstrated ability to implement them on site
- Experience interpreting and analysing contracts, drawings and specifications
- Solid site experience across relevant building or installation sectors
- Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practice; ability to enforce and promote safe working
- Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills
Qualifications
- Trade qualification, tertiary qualifications in industrial design, architecture, engineering or equivalent experience
- Project management qualifications or equivalent experience
