We are excited to be looking for the next cohort of Qualified Maintenance Fitters to join our Ingleburn Manufacturing Team This is a crucial role to support the production capabilities of the site and you will be responsible for the repairs and maintenance of high-volume food manufacturing equipment, robotic equipment, site services and packaging equipment.
Reporting to our Engineering and Reliability Manager you will be a part of a hard-working team that is highly collaborative and takes pride in keeping our machinery and equipment in peak working order.
What your days look like:
- Ensure that safety and quality are top priority.
- Respond immediately to equipment breakdowns, finding and fixing faults.
- Troubleshooting and repairs on varied high speed manufacturing equipment including production lines that manufacture canned goods, food pouches and food trays.
- Undertake and complete scheduled maintenance activities as per the planned maintenance program.
- Fabrication of parts for industrial plant and equipment including machining and welding.
- Recording preventive maintenance carried out and corrective work in the CMMS (MEX)
- Assisting production teams to diagnose faults and find solutions to minimise down time.
- Undertake work on special projects and other responsibilities as may be determined.
- Completion of work passed on from previous shift and handover of important work to the following shift
- Process improvement ideas
- Drive GMP awareness and compliance in alignment with quality standards during maintenance activities.
- Participate in relevant investigations as required to determine root cause of issue through the doing and engaging with the team to support.
- Attend and actively contribute to team meetings.
You will nail this role if you have:
- Experience as a Maintenance/Mechanical Fitter in FMCG or the Food Manufacturing Industry
- No problems working in a food manufacturing site - this is a busy site that manufactures pet food from raw products including frozen animal protein
- Mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of mechanical systems such as pneumatic, hydraulic, power transmission and fluid transfer systems (steam, water, chemical/CIP etc).
- Background knowledge of refrigeration, boilers, compressed air, advanced waste-water or trade waste treatment plant.
- Have a recognised Fitting Trade Qualification. Ideally a Certificate III Mechanical Trade or Cert III Mechanical Trade – Fitter/Machinist, however a Certificate II or above qualifications in Fluid Power (Pneumatics) or Certificate II or above qualifications in hydraulics or pneumatics is also acceptable
- A strong team player, ready to be part of our pack, working collaboratively and cross-functionally.
- You will need to have a go-getter and proactive mindset looking to make a genuine difference.
