A leading Australian organisation is undergoing a major data transformation program aimed at improving how data is managed, governed and leveraged across the enterprise. As part of this journey, the organisation is implementing a modern cloud-based data platform and investing heavily in its data governance capabilities. An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Technical Delivery Lead to play a key role in delivering a strategic data governance solution.

Your new role
As the Technical Delivery Lead, you will be responsible for designing, developing and delivering an enterprise-grade data governance solution using open-source technologies. Working closely with senior stakeholders across architecture, technology and data teams, you will define the technical roadmap, establish solution designs and lead the implementation of a scalable governance platform.
You will provide hands-on technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring solutions align with architecture standards, security requirements and long-term business objectives. In addition, you will build and mentor a small team of engineers, driving delivery within an agile environment and managing technical risks proactively.
Key responsibilities include:

- Designing and delivering an end-to-end data governance platform using open-source technologies.
- Defining the technical roadmap and implementation strategy.
- Providing technical leadership and decision-making across Scrum teams.
- Developing solution patterns, architecture designs and implementation standards.
- Leading a team of engineers through design, development and deployment activities.
- Ensuring solutions are secure,



scalable and aligned with enterprise architecture principles.
- Managing technical risks and resolving delivery challenges before they impact project outcomes.
- Collaborating with senior business and technology stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.

What you'll need to succeed
- Strong hands-on experience in Databricks engineering and solution architecture.
- Experience working within cloud environments, ideally Microsoft Azure.
- Proven track record delivering technology products or platforms end-to-end.
- Open-source software development experience.
- Strong technical engineering background with the ability to move between high-level architecture and detailed solution design.
- Experience leading technical teams and directing engineers through complex delivery initiatives.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in complex and challenging stakeholder environments.
- Strong problem-solving, resilience and leadership capabilities.
