Summary:

South Coastal Health & Community Services has an opportunity for a Part-time (2 days per week) Mental Health Clinician – Psychologist with a passion for supporting the mental health and wellbeing of vulnerable women and young people, especially perinatal mental health and those experiencing, or at risk of family and domestic violence.

About Us:

South Coastal Health & Community Services (SCHCS) is a leading provider of a range of mental health and community support services. For over 30 years, SCHCS has grown to provide services to thousands of women and families who now access individual counselling, therapeutic and support groups.

Our Mental Health Team work across a range of services including triage, assessment, referral and counselling services, advocacy, and psychological support to women and children who have mild to moderate mental health concerns. This includes prevention and intervention with individuals who are at risk or who are victim-survivors of family and domestic violence.

Your responsibilities:

- Conduct assessments of clients’ emotional and social needs.
- Conduct risk assessments, as required.
- Provide individual counselling to clients who are affected by a range of issues as part of counselling service programs
- Provide appropriate therapeutic interventions, using evidence-based models.




- Provide group support, as required.
- Provide triage of referrals, as required.
- Participate in quality assurance activities and evaluation of the programs.
- Sound knowledge of the laws and ethical standards relevant to this area of
- practice.
- Knowledge of the non-profit sector (Desirable).

Your qualifications and/or other requirements:

- Relevant Tertiary Qualification in Psychology
- Registration with APHRA
- Ability to obtain Medicare provider number
- Current Working with Children Check.
- A National Police Clearance no older than 6 months from date of issue
