Overview / Responsibilities

Wood has an immediate requirement for Senior Engineers to join our Intelligent Operations team in Australia. These roles can be based in either Perth or Melbourne. Our team is a global multi-sector specialist consultancy providing innovative thinking and delivering excellence targeted to solve the challenges our customers face. We work consistently to expand our expertise in this field and are keen to engage with those that have a solid technical interest to work on a range of projects globally.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will primarily be tasked to perform flow assurance activities under the supervision of a lead engineer or project manager and supervise junior engineers. You will provide specialist hands on engineering input to the project activities starting from the screening studies up to the completion of the execution phase. We are looking for candidates with a solid technical background, e.g. good fundamental understanding of fluid dynamics and heat transfer principles and those who are comfortable being a primary point of contact with clients and specialists.

We are open to applications from candidates with greater than 5 years of experience in flow assurance, process engineering and/or transient dynamic modelling.

You will be:

- Very competent technically with supervision only required in complex circumstances

Responsibilities include:

- Be able to independently undertake and deliver detailed technical work in support of the portfolio of projects and studies currently in hand;
- Develop work scopes and CTRs;
- Ensure all work is undertaken in accordance with the company quality management system;
- Ensure that project objectives assigned by the Project Lead / Manager and Client are achieved;
- Provide guidance and mentoring for more junior staff;
- Making effective presentations to clients that bottom line the results;
- Act as a client representative at technical meetings with third parties;
- Support other work as may be required. This may include but not be limited to studies, research, developmental work or work of a related nature

Qualifications

We are looking for energetic engineers who are highly motivated and enjoy working as part of a close knit and supporting team. Individuals who are:

- Conversant in flow assurance and/or process / pipeline simulation and have an awareness of CFD; and able to work autonomously
- Client focused with solid communication and relationship building skills
- Committed to business process compliance
- Hands on, organised, proactive and self-disciplined

Your previous background:





- Recognised qualification in a relevant engineering discipline or extensive experience in a relative field and a demonstrated ability to be able to perform equivalently to, or better than, reasonably expected of a degree qualified engineer;
- Advanced degree focusing in the areas of multiphase flow / fluid dynamics / heat transfer / applied mathematics is desirable but not required;
- 5+ years flow assurance experience in the Oil and Gas industry with an excellent technical background;
- Proficiency in modelling tools and packages such as OLGA / Pipenet / TGNET / Pipesim / PVTSim / Multiflash / LedaFlow / HYSYS / UniSim, etc.;
- Programming / coding (VBA, python, etc.) and data analytics skills would be an advantage;
- Local market knowledge would be seen as an advantage
- Wood does considerable work in flow assurance in emerging sectors such as H2, CO2, NH3 and others. Proven previous experience in these areas is desirable.
